keyword stuffing?

I read some where about keyword stuffing but I still don't under stand it.

My site is a new york message board. I still can't get my keywords right and the stuff about keyword stuffing. I think that is why I might be having problems with google.

here is a list of my keywords: nyc,new york city,ny,new york,ny state,new york state,new yorkers,city new york,ny chat,nyc chat,new york chat,new york city chat,chat room,chat and forum,ny forum,nyc forum,new york forum,new york city forum,ny message board,nyc message board,new york message board,new york city message board,bbs,bulletin board,community board,online community,manhattan,bronx,brooklyn,queens,staten island

well you got it! you just keep repeating the same primary words over and over again and the page is "STUFFED"

As to helping... well about as much as a STUFFED NOSE helps you!

If you are optimising for G, then I would suggest that you should remove meta Keywords tag from your pages. Or at least don't keyword stuff like that. Otherwise get ready for a possible OOP (Over Optimization Penalty) sooner or later. (Especially at the time of season for your business )

I wouldn't use "any" but if you are you don't need commas and you don't need to repeat a word.

Well if you are talking about Meta Keyword as in:

<meta name="keywords" content="some pile of worthless words than are meaningless to orderred rankings">

Don't even attempt to understand... ignored this.

So keywords are what my site is about? so if msn spider my site and finds in the meta tag NYC so it knows that everything that is from NYC it will find it on my site?

In the sense of people searching for sommthing at any search engines - the term or phrase they type into the search box is often referred to as a "keyword"...

So yes... your website is fill with text on some specific subject matter and much/many of this subject matter is identical to the terms and phrase people to define what they wish to find... "keywords".

However, the Meta Keyword tag has depreciated and much more likely deprecated - thus useless to add to any page.
