I created a webpage with a couple of long tail keywords that are being searched for but aren't that competitive.
I have a link from my homepage PR3 to the keyword page. After being indexed, I got fair ranking, one keyword at 20 and the other at 30. They stayed that way for a few days and the next time I checked, they are both in the 400's. I don't get it. Is this normal? Thanks, Cole |

If the site is new, that's pretty normal. New sites normally rank higher in the beginning, and with the time their position becomes stable, where stable is normally a lot lower than it was when the site was launched.
Anyway, if you continue working hard on your site you will get the results you are seeking.

Correct. Several things can happen when a new site is indexed -
immediate bump followed by drop brief removal from index goes in at its "correct" ranking Theres a lot more post processing going on when a spider hits your page and your site is placed into the index. |
