use the words in your site constantly. The more you include those words the more google picks up on them.

Not sure what you mean by you did a lot of SEO because you said you have little knowledge of seo. It is therefore a little difficult to give you any advice

However general factors are
Keyword density
Vary keywords {Latent semantic indexing]
Great content
Frequently updated content
A ton of backlinks from relevant sites containing your keywords in the anchor

Hope this helped

just a suggestion johna,

if u think WEB DESIGN AUSTRALIA is the potential keyword then have this keyword in;

Title

Body

H1/H2/H3 tags

Links with that keyword

in bold letters

meta description

Meta keywords(though its of not much use, but there is nothing to loose if u have use it in the meta keyword tag)

Just find out your top competitors who come first for the keyword "WEB DESIGN AUSTRALIA" and how they have used the keywords in their page. You can get an idea to get an edge over them.

Please consult others on this, it is just a suggestion from my side.

JagNet disagrees: it's actually one of the least helpful methods.

No No No No No No No!!!!!!!!!

Keyword density is not a factor. Search engines have become more sophisticated than that. The only time it becomes a factor is when you take it to silly levels and then it can actually harm you. Prior to that you'll receive no additional benefits.

Frequently updated content -- only if the topic demands it. I still see sites that I built years ago ranking well even though the content hasn't been touched in the meantime. Changing content for the sake of it to try and get a SERPs boost isn't going to do you many favours.

Bold/italic -- this isn't going to gain any meaningful results in the real world.

Meta description -- not a ranking factor. Putting keywords in here will not help.

Meta keywords -- things have moved on since 1994. They do nothing at all for your rankings. You can spend time writing them, and bandwidth serving them, for what? Nothing. So there is something to lose.
