huh? can you rephrase this in simpler english please? I think your asking for a definition of the KEI that's used in SEO strategies...but you could just google for that...

KEI is a really bad measurement. Im pretty sure they take the total times clicked / keyword competition. If i remember correctly though the competition is for the term without quotes so the KEI numbers are flawed.

Keyword effectiveness indexing Should be higher

Higher KEI more popular keywords and less competition

Then we have chance to get rank on keywords

While you noted Wordtracker's rational for using KEI... do you know how it determines it's numbers?

If you did you would say "KEI is absolute rubbish".

    In regards to KeywordDiscovery(dot)com:

KEI stands for Keyword Effectiveness Indicator and designed to measure the effectiveness, or the value of a given search term. KEI is a value between 0 and 10.

The value of each keyword is calculated by correlating a number of factors including the popularity of the keyword and the number of pages on which it occurs.

The most effective keywords will be those with a high KEI value. Such terms are typically searched for often, but appear on a small number of pages, and are therefore less competitive.

When using KEI, keep in mind that KEI is only an indicator and should not be the sole reason for choosing particular keywords.

The only way you can measure how effective a keyword is, is by testing it, properly. No matter what the KEI-BS (you can guess what the bs stands for), all keywords convert differently compared to the demographics, landing page, usability, ad text and lots and lots of other factors. And these keyword tools just give you a rough idea to go on. The majority of them are quite inaccurate aswell, especially on the low end of searches.
