Real name linking to pseudonym's website?

Hi all, total newb here so sorry for what is probably a daft question and my total lack of experience.

I write fiction under a pseudonym and set up a simple website for that pseudonym through Yola. However I have recently discovered that if you google my real name + my genre, one of the top results is my psuedonym's website! My real name does not appear anywhere on the website so I'm baffled as to how this can happen. The whole point of creating a pseudonym was to keep my writing seperate from my "real life" so I'm really keen to sort this out.

    Many thanks in advance!

Sounds like there's a link somewhere that's giving it away.

It is also possible that Google si using personalized results, as its a website you frequently visit related toy our search (they know this from web browser and analytics), you may well be logged into an account that is associated with that web site (using an email address) and the WHOIS data for the web site may also have your name. All these things tell Google that it is related to your name and that you may be interested in it.

Browse using a fresh browser, with a clear cache when not logged in and see if you get the same results.

A link with your name would also do this as Test-ok points out.

Hi guys and thanks for your responses. I tried both of your suggestions to no avail so in the end I emailed Yola. They said that my real name is registered with the domain name, which is apparently a legal requirement. So they activated domain privacy for me, which means my details no longer appear in the public WHOIS and now the problem is solved! Thanks again for your help.
