Keyword Targeting For Local
Hi Everyone I had a quick question on determining keywords for local search.
For instance lets say you are an mma gym and in the adwords tool there are only a few phrases that actual register for local for that keyword. For instance:
mma in Passaic County
mma in nj
nj mma
But the rest of the suggested keyterms don't have any geography attatched to them but have large local (U.S wide) searches such as
mma training
mma gyms
mma classes
What I'm trying to figure out is if people in the county are only searching for the terms in the first list or are they searching also for the terms in the second list (mma training in Passaic County), but not as much as the first list.
Thanks for any advice.

To target a local keyword please focus on long tail keyword and keyword phrases and also mention the targeted location

Targeting local keywords are more beneficial for business point of view because most of the people have more faith on a local service provider than the overseas. Another thing it is very easy to rank local keyword because the local keyword competition is definitely low compare to global keyword.

Use Google Adwords tool and set the match types to "Exact", locations and languages to "your nation" (for instance India), and "your language" (for instance english), and then conduct the keyword search and pick the one with decent search volume, and preferably low to medium competition keyword.
