Exclamation Google Keyword Planner's new search volume.

What do you guys think? You now need to run ad campaigns and whatever you spend gives you a certain limit to see more precise search volume.
I didn't see any data on limits or minimum budgets though.

    This is their ranges now:
    0 10
    10 100
    100 1K
    1K 10K
    10K - 100K
    100K 1M
    1M 10M
    10M 100M

Some keyword tools were made unusable, I've seen complaints from Long Tail Pro users. We at Serpstat are still pulling precise search volumes and this all actually plays in our favor.
Seems like the advertisers are the ones who suffer most.

The less the advertisers know, the more Google makes.

It's hard for me to figure out why Google did this...other than for money. It's a shame - when I started here at SEO Chat, Keyword Planner seemed like one of the most useful free tools in the box!

Nice! When I heard this announcement it did get me thinking - "Someone's gonna do good business offering a cheaper, more accurate tool than Google's."

I guess a little market competition is never a bad thing, right?

    The golden age has dawned.

I really don't see how one can research keyword with it anymore. You now have to start a campaign with this data, like 1,000-10,000 monthly searches to get the actual number. So your first campaign's purpose is paying for keyword research.

If anyone's interested, here's the comparison of their new ranges to the ones they provided previously:

Top numbers are the new ranges, below are the old ones.

Google doesn't want you to understand the matrix so they leave enough out so google is the winner on all fronts. That's what happens when your #1. It's also the reason I don't use google tools.
