Yeah, one of the sites I optimised a while ago is a .Net site - got it to #1 for freelance programmer without any trouble... it's slipped from that ranking now, but that's because it hasn't been updated for about 4 months...
Google indexes the site just fine. |

.net .org .com .ws don't quote me on it but I really dont think it matters to much. Check out "phentermine" there is uusally tons of .vg sites up there. Go figure
BTW done tons of .net's works fine |

I think he's referring to Microsoft's technology, rather than the tld's.

seo guy, lol I guess maybe I should have wrote a better post. sorry for the confusing. Yes I am talking about the MS technology of using ASP.NET platform. Someone was referring to some post that was told to stay away from using the language at all cost but can't reference the threads. I want to take a commerce site and re-build using ASP.NET and was just asking if it's a good idea and will it interfere with the search engines? I think imo it doesn't matter as I was told that using ASP.NET would be better to optimize then a commerce site. At least I can take care of the variables in the url's. Just wanted some second opinions. Thanks everyone. lilbit |

lilbit - .asp pages get indexed just the same as normal html pages. As you yourself say, you just have to be careful with parameters (not more than 2, and much better if none) and also do not use session id's.

Gringo,
I didn't think it would matter either, wasn't sure if I missed something on why someone would say to stay away from it at all cost. Still trying to find the reference on that. thanks again. lilbit |

yeah, like I said earlier... I didn't have any trouble at all (they'll actually be .aspx files Gringo - still no problem though).
.NET is cool, if you have the option and the skills to use that environment, then I would have no hesitation in using it. |
