Javascript or .htaccess redirect?
The format of my site is that of a FAQ with the answers living on an external site. I use JS links so as to not have SEs count those as outgoing links. The format is using OnClick with OnMouseover.
I'm wondering if a better and/or cleaner way to do this would be to use a .htaccess redirect: Redirect /localdir http://www.externalsite.com Just looking at one of my links, I could reduce the number of characters in one line of code from 311 to 88. This could significantly reduce the size of my pages. Any thoughts on this? Any advantage/disadvantage to either method? Thanks! Vic |

Hmm. I personally use JS for my dynamic links and have not had any problems or troubles at all. I would recommend staying with JS but thats just my opinion.
If the JS linking code really makes that much of a difference in your page size, test other methods of linking and wait till the engines reindex your pages to see. - A |
