W3c
Main advantages that derive from W3C compliance.
Your website will be more easily accessed by people with disabilities and the user experience will be improved; (read more website usability articles) W3C validation helps you reduce the amount of coding on your pages thus emphasizing the importanceof content. Your site will have the chance to get indexed and as a result get higher rankings in the most important search engines, since spiders are known to crawl websites with relevant content; Your website can be easily accessed from different devices – PCs, laptops, PDAs, cellular phones, etc.; Validation is fully compatible with a wide range of dynamic pages, scripting and active content, multimedia presentations, etc.; Different current and future browsers will display pages in the same way, or at least in a very similar fashion. I don't think that having a 100% W3 validated site will mean the difference between life and death in your SERPs. But it's definitely validating your code as much as possible to make it more user-friendly and appealing to potential customers. No one wants to see busted tables or elements out of place or not working properly on a page.
Sometimes I've noticed that W3 doesn't recognise the <embed> tag. But it works perfectly in all browsers when I look at the element so I don't worry about it.

Yeah since reducing coding will likely increase text content. Quote:
Oh, I disagree, W3C validation will not make your content relevant. W3C validation either is not a ranking factor as I observed except if you could show evidences beyond reasonable doubt. Quote:
True. W3C validation helps in that area a lot. Do not get mislead reading articles, it is said there it is still not yet proven beyond reasonable doubt W3C validation can help rankings.
