Drop downs - OK?

Are drop downs able to be read by spiders - that is content and / or links?

Good question.
I dont believe they are as they are essentially javascript links. That's why I always use footer links as an alternative if I'm using drop down menus.

The ASP drop down can be seen by the search engine spiders.

I'm not certain about other server side scripts though.

I should add that it only applies to passing variables without the querystring.

ie: dropdownpage?red=blue

request.querystring("red")

The "?" in the statement causes most spiders to stop and not continue to spider the page.

There are ways around that, however.
