Drop downs - OK?
Are drop downs able to be read by spiders - that is content and / or links?

Good question.
I dont believe they are as they are essentially javascript links. That's why I always use footer links as an alternative if I'm using drop down menus. |

city,
they are not search engine friendly. if you like, I discussed this exact topic in my article that can be found at: JavaScript or DHTML Dropdown or Pulldown Menus on SEOChat JavaScript or DHTML Dropdown or Pulldown Menus on RustyBrick (my site) |

The ASP drop down can be seen by the search engine spiders.
I'm not certain about other server side scripts though. Cheers |

I should add that it only applies to passing variables without the querystring.
ie: dropdownpage?red=blue request.querystring("red") The "?" in the statement causes most spiders to stop and not continue to spider the page. There are ways around that, however. Cheers |
