Thanks for your reply Wayne. BTW... visited your blog and saw lots of good content. Keep up the good work.

Thanks EGOL.

I appreciate your support.

I am building my blog on content and linking. I attempt to provide good content to current and potential users of blogs. Because I provide daily content, I receive many good natural incoming links.

I'm sure you found some of the SEO advice on there fairly basic, but most of my reading audience consists of novice SEO people. Many have never even heard of any of the concepts most of the members here take for granted.

Feel free to provide your thoughts any time.

EGOL,

As you know I run a nice little blog, you also know I have a team of developers at my company. I could have built out my own custom toolset to run the blog, but I did not. I went with an open source platform named Movable Type, known as MT for short. This platform is really full featured and there was no reason for me to build my own.

There are certain things I can not do easily yet, like easily pull up the last post by author. But I hear the next version which is in beta should be able to handle that. I strongly recommend MT if your going for a blog application.

You are very welcome, EGOL.

I was inspired to share as many blogging ideas and tips as I could because of the generous help given to me on this and other SEO forums.

I consider it a way of paying back my teachers by passing their wisdom along. By the way EGOL, you are on that list of those from whom I have learned a lot.

One bit of advice for those who have considerable programming and SEO background, use a more powerful blogging tool like Moveable Type or TypePad, among others.

I use Google owned Blogger and it provides almost no features at all. I don't recommend it to experienced programmers or SEO professionals. On the other hand, Google treats Blogger hosted blogs very well.

I always score top of Page One Google listings for my most important keywords. I do even better in Yahoo. My Google PageRanks are PR6 for the blogs listed in my signature. My incoming link totals are decent and growing, as well.
