Uninstalling Firefox Google Toolbar
I just had a nightmare time trying to uninstall the Google toolbar for Firefox.
It kept reinstalling itself every time I unstalled it.
The toolbar itself was installed as part of the Google pack.
Uninstalling seems to require starting Firefox in safe mode and spending an hour searching for instructions on how to do it. Seems a few people have had this problem
Was I just unlucky or is this a "feature" of G's toolbar?

Thanks all, I managed to uninstall it last year. There was a problem with using the instructions you suggested where it would automatically install itself again. The problem was on a copy of Firefox with the Google toolbar already built in. I can't remember what I had to do to uninstall it, think I had to go into the config file.
The reason I wanted to uninstall it was privacy concerns and I had a different extension which showed page rank installed.

Google toolbar is pretty good for seo but if you don't like it, just click Tools on your top Firefox browser, select Add-ons, after that select Extensions and try to find Google toolbar. When you find it, just select Disable or Remove.

This thread was from 2006, a lot in firefox has changed since then and the google tool bar no longer works in FF so I don't know why people feel the need to bump this old thread with utter rubbish!
