Slightly slows down your system
isn't it true that Google toolbar slows down your system. i think its true you can see the Google toolbar taking resources of your memory in the task manager even when you are not using the browser

Not really, it's not noticable here anyway. Maybe if you have a mega slow connection. How fast is your connection? I think the toolbar runs when the browser runs.

Google toolbar utilizes its own memory, in which for this case, it does not add any memory usage to your browser..probably its purpose is to make their toolbar more robust, so that if other tabs fail due to too much memory usage, other tabs wont be affected...
They also implemented similar design to google chrome..in which you can notice that each tab is using each own independent application..
