Unhappy Removing a missplaced Google toolbar

I have accidentally pasted a toolbar across the home page of my desktop. I don't know how it happened but can't move it or remove it. That's not where I want it. I use XP Pro and ran a search but couldn't find its location. It sits there in the middle of the page. My question is how to remove it? Right clicking just gives me the properties and options on the icons. Am stumped. Thanks for any ideas.

If the toolbars are locked in place, you should be able to right-click on the toolbar and uncheck the Lock The Toolbars option. Once unlocked, you should be able to grab it and move it.

Thanks for your reply. But that won't work because the Google toolbar I'm trying to remove is just a picture of the toolbar plastered across the desktop. I use Google in the browser but that's not the problem. I lost the toolbar from the browser, went to Google to get another and somehow tried to move it to the browser but it went to the desktop instead, as a picture of the toolbar. So it's just stuck on the desktop and I want to delete it from the desktop. There is no exit sign on the picture. Later I got a new Google search engine on my browser. Now I want to get rid of the picture of the Google engine and toolbar that's on my desktop. How to do that is my puzzle for today. All ideas appreciated.

ah, sorry, i misunderstood. i'm sure you've probably already tried rebooting or refreshing the desktop, but that's the only other things I could think of to do.
