only one universal toolbar

i think google yahoo, alexa and other many major search engine companies should come together and make only one universal toolbar so that they can collect data at a time from big crowd.

nowdays what happened we have to download many toolbars and it is not easy to use many toolbars at a time.

how is idea?

is it possible?

is it profitable for every search engine?

it's an interesting idea. it'd provide a database of information that could be shared between all of the services. however, there's no chance the popular services (ie google, msn) would want to share with the less popular onces.

there's room here for something, though: a toolbar that allows the data collected and distributed to be shown to the public. an open-source, free toolbar.

those sorts of things take off, I mean, look at dmoz.

What is to stop an intuitive coder from combining API's from multiple sources to create a toolbar? It would be very simple really. I can't believe it hasnt already been done....it probably has.

Because Google is the only one with an API and it only allows 1000 queries per day.

It's not what the toolbar can do but how many people are being tracked. If 95% of online users dont have a universal toolbar installed than that toolbar become just like every other toolbar. All the info is split between a users preference.

I think we get too hung up on PR on google, yahoo, alexa and so on, use one toolbar as a guide, check your serps regularly on the important engines and build traffic through good SEO and bl's. Page rank is only a guide, were do you show up inthe SERPs, that has to be the most important factor.

IMHO

Cool google tool bar

google is a Market Leader in Search Engin industries and it's tool bar is sufficent, yahoo is preety good but 66% of the market is cover by google 15% by yahoo 2% by altavista and rest by others, so in this type of condition google is a right choice others are also improtant according to regions but globaly google is a first choice.

I dont think Webrank works anymore honestly. It did in the previous versions but I dont even see it in the new toolbars.

Is it still there??
