Older is better

As many of you might have noticed, DMOZ category indicator is gone since v3. What made Google team remove such a useful option and how do we get it back?

I personally keep installing the old toolbar (luckilly I kept the v2 installer) but Google manages to update it from time to time... so I tried dumping a few googlebar1/2/3.dll files in my directory and making them read-only so the bar cannot self-update but it's starting to get annoying.

There must be a solution for DMOZ category listing indicator out there that I am not aware of it.

I use SearchStatus extension for Firefox and it shows whether a website is listed in Dmoz.

Donno if they do this on the Old Google toolbar but on the firefox plugin it doesn't work well. If a site is listed under http://domain.com and you're on a http://www.domain.com version of the page it won't show it as listed.

btw, WiseSEO I would fix your sig, it's going to Microsoft

We can only hope it will appear again in v4 and perheps pop some questions related to the Official Googlers, since MSN toolbar is defently not going to add such a feature and Yahoo is also - all against Google!

What annoys me is that I don't have the old toolbar version, I don't ask anyone to update my toolbar and now every page shows a 0/10, indexed or not... That was helpful, now I have to see if they are cached or not...

Also, the DMOZ cat button was great... Google is messing up with the toolbar

Or use a Alexa Toolbar with Firefox extensions. It has dmoz, wayback, related links, and google PR on it using Firefox,as well as many other features.
