How to set google background

hello,
I want to set background image on my google home page but when i tried to set it so it was asked to login first so logged in and set the background but as soon as i logged out background image removed.
Is there any option through which i can set image in background permanently.

Yes... Stay logged in.

just like ClickyB said best thing to do for image in background permanently is to stay logged in.. and no other way.. so far..
