i also decided to get a powerbook when i decided to get a notebook. i just like the design and how it's very compatible. i also have had no problems integrating my work with my desktop pc.

with that said, i also wish google would come out with a toolbar for os x but there are a bunch of web sites where you can check your pagerank at. safari also includes a toolbar so you can do google searches from within the browser so i do not really have a big problem with the absence of a mac toolbar.

Yeah I love that search from within Safari, and I also use the sites to check PR - but I always feel like I'm putting my site at risk by using those PR checking tools and I love a legit way to do it on OSX - remember a while back when some sites were getting banned and the only explanation was the use of automated submission / checking tools? well that's where this worry stems from!

I hacked together a Mac PageRank Widget yesterday (shows PageRank of whatever site you are looking at in Safari):

It *might* work (I haven't tried it myself) if you install a new version of PHP:

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/14526

Mainly it just needs a version of PHP compiled to be able to run from the shell (which 10.2 does not have by default).

If you try it, let me know if it works either way...

I'll give it a shot... I don't want to upgrade the OS until 10.4 comes out. I'll post back when I'm done with the PHP thing done.

If you want the Google bar's search box and its popup blocker you can just download Mozilla or Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org the only thing you wont get native in that is the page rank system but I do believe there is an extension for it now. As for macs they rule and if I could as good a mac for the $800 that I built my pc then I would certainly be using one now.

.:: Edit ::.
Woops, didnt read this past the first post sorry I just ended up repeating what others have said.
