Talking You guys are great
Been lurking in this forum for quite some time, picking up nuggets of information here and there. As of today we are NUMERO UNO for our keyword. We've been watching it slowly increase over the last few months and seen our traffic jump as well. We've gone from ~1,000 visits to over 20,000 visits daily, so a big THANKS to all of you. Great forum!

The only problem now is that we can't seem to get the Inktomi spider to leave us alone... 8)

I can't pin it on one particular thing. Mostly little things we were missing but picked up from reading here. Validating the HTML was a big one... we had a few problems straightened out there. We changed many of our image links over to text, and changed the way some of our advertising partners were linking to us (text instead of banners). Nothing Earth shattering.

Exclude the bot in your robots.txt if it's a problem.

So far it's not a problem. We eventually had to exclude it from our stats though. For the last 5 months (at least) Inktomi has been a constant visitor. I mean 24 hours a day. As I write this there are 15 unique Ink IP's on the site.
