Working with Page Rank

I need to see if you think that this will help me out with some of the page rank on some of the deeper pages in one of my main websites. Basically here's the deal: We have our main page, www.boilersupplies.com, with hundreds of different items. We also have about 8 more domains that are sitting out there right now doing nothing. What I want to know is if I convert, say two of these sites to something like this:
http://www.attentiontodesign.com/temp/index.html

Would this help with page rank or would Google frown upon that?

It shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't link back to those sites. It will help if the sites already have some PR.
