Will this affect my PR or ranking?
I run a very small business site and just seperated it into two sites basically, one for US shopping and one for CDN shopping (as I'm a Canuck, lol).
Now, my domain points to the US site, since that's clearly where my traffic come from and my CDN site is linked as Canada.html through the US site pages. Here's my worry-my Canada.html is basically a duplicate of my US index page, w/the exception of some different internal links-will Google penalize me for this?Should I have created a completely different page for the CDN shopping site? You can view both here http://www.buddyblankies.com -that's the US and the Canuck is http://www.buddyblankies.com/Canada.html Thanks

Personally I think you've no need to worry, since the fact that you link to different parts of your shopping cart means that essentially the page is different.
However, since you're targetting a Canadian audience on the second page, why don't you make it even more different by adding the words Canada or Canadian in strategic places. For example, you could change the title to "Buddy Blankies in Canada ...", change the link text to "Buddy Ears for Canadians..", things like that, as well as add these words in the content text to make it even clearer the page is for Canadians. This can only help searches people make for these products sold specifically within Canada. Gringo. |
