Will i rank better after a PR Update

Hi All

Im ranking number 15 for a 6,000,000 competing keyword but as my site is young, not had a PR yet.

Does anyone know in their experience if once google has done a PR update, this would add to my rankings even if by 3-4 positions

To get to the first page, even number 10 would be great, thats unless i do by then by backlinks etc

Many Thanks

Rob

You won't see any change as a result of the Toolbar PR export. This export is a snapshot of your real Pagerank taken sometime prior to the toolbar export. Real PR is updated continuously, whereas the export only occurs every 3 to 4 months on average.

PR updation won't affect rankings, if you observe it then it will be pure coincident!

I think so, you could get a PR this next PR update! But it doesn't matter to me anymore . . .what important to me is SERP and Traffics!

i think PR won't be the basis to achieve higher rankings on SERPs. if i were you i won't give too much attention on PR and i'll prioritize SERPs ranking since it defines the achievement of a SEO specialist. =)

So as not to confuse others... PR and SERPs positioning are interrelated in that it takes backlinks to achieve PR and it also takes backlinks to do well in the SERPs.

Differentiation comes in backlink relevance to the keyword query and quality/trust of the page providing the link, i.e. a lower PR one-way link that is relevant will provide much more SERP placement influence than a higher PR link that is not relevant, is a known paid link, from a directory, etc.
