What would 2 x PR8 links do to a new site
Would 2 x PR8 links from a site of related interest (travel) help boost a new site currently with no PR. (Up to 40 other outgoing links on both PR8 pages)

I know you can't give exacts but what kind of PR would this give me. From posts I have read I am guessing 6 ?

BTW - I am actively seeking lots of links of varying PR's (a few PR4's already pointing but not yet indexed) but I am considering purchaing these links to help "jump-start" my site.

6 or possibly even a 7. It would definitely jumpstart the site - but if you ever quit paying for the links - they will go away - and that will cause your PR to go down as well.

The best use of that increased PR would be to start getting some reciprocal links -- stat!

That way, when the initial links disappear (if they do), then you'll have a stronger base to work with.

If you can get that two links, it would be much easier for you to begin a link campaign, with many backlinks, you don't need worry too much about lose these two links

hahahahaha

with one more PR8 - 3 PR8 should bring a PR7, but as you said each page has about 40 outbound links, so I would guess yes at LEAST a 6... if you get one more PR8 you might be able to achieve a PR7.... and as cygnus said, use them while you have them and start a link campaign with other HIGH PR sites....

I would think that 2 PR8 links that are sitewide would bring you to a 7. If they are one page only, then probably a 6.

I'll bet $20 that you get at least a very strong PR6 or a weak PR7... that is if the PR8s are weak ones. If they are potent you will get a weak PR7 for sure, probably a nice PR7.

That poses an interesting question. What would be the better of the two deals.

2xPR8 or 1xPR9 assuming the links are neither strong or weak and had the same
amount of outgoing links.

What would you choose?

So are you all saying that just one say inbound 8 can jump your page up to a 6 or so? I have an new inbound 7 this month and several 4s coming in. I am currently a 3 <--- New site>, do you all think I will see a pretty dramatic jump from this?

I'd rather have the PR9 myself, I actually think it might weigh quite a bit more than the 2 PR8's.
