Understanding the best in the business
Is there any way on Google (or has anyone written a search) to view sites only with a particular page rank.
Obviously it would be really useful to all SEOs to be able to just view a load of PR 8 or 9 sites and analyse how they've succeeded. One other thing... I have been award of a PR9 site that has used faked backlinks and have complained about them every month to Google's Spam team but still the site is up there with a PR9 after every dance - are there any other steps that can be taken? |

I tried the same method and it didn't work. Maybe there's something about that code I learnt in other thread (the "gladiola" code

What do you mean by "faked" backlinks? Can you give an example?
Thanks, Gringo. |

Respectfully, balonya to PR 8,9,10, and more
What are the SERP? All I care about is where the other site is listed in a search. Work backwards from their. OK...I submit to hysteria </joke>. View Googles Directory and the default sort is by PR. Not the number but the bar. You can call me PR2 any time you want HTH |

With all respect Steve_S, from a webmaster point of view is correct. But for a user who searches for some info on Psoherba, to find those ridiculous pages we've discussed in the other thread or to get to a link farm when he is looking for some travel destinations... it's not pretty at all.
After all... I'm payed for targeted visits, not for the quantity of visited pages. I don't waste time on creating everything for everybody, because my client does not want this. So, in conclusion, of course I'm mad when a PR9 porn page gets first in Google when it's obvious it used some "illegal tricks". |

Robert, I agree on every thing you said. I really do. Are we both still buddies in the SEO Secret Club
My post only concerned this part of the Topic starters Post and thats all I was referring to and thats all I was answering and or trying to provide guidence: "Is there any way on Google (or has anyone written a search) to view sites only with a particular page rank. Steve_S is right
PR shouldn't carry the value that people put on it It takes up too much time that could be more usefully placed elsewhere - for example finding niche keyword phrases that you put on a page that has only a few other sites using but has a number of people visiting. You place the page become no 1 and bingo you get all the traffic Now in my book that might take an hour per page - 8 pages per day and you have improved your collection by up to 8 times! I think that carries more weight in my book

The easiest way to do that by the way Foxy is to get yourself a search engine friendly Forum. Each post becomes a new indexable page and is normally on theme and most of the time you don't have to even create the pages as everyone who starts a new thread is essentially doing it for you :-)
This very site has 2,100 pages indexed by google (http://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.seochat.com+inurl:*&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&start=30&sa=N) So the best way to get indexable content is imo through communities. WMW is a prime example of what a SE friendly forum can do for PR and ranking. I didnt add a German language forum on my site just for visitors, I also had my own ranking reasons as well and still get a fair amount of entry pages being particular threads. So the easy way to create new content on a daily basis without even doing it all yourself, is to create a good forum :-) |
