If you add the following line to your hosts file in Windows systems, you can find out what your new PR will be after the dance ...

216.239.33.100 toolbarqueries.google.com

I just did this and found that I am now 5/10.

This site has only really been up since Nov. 15th or so and we are now 87,722 on Alexa and now 5/10 w/ Google.

I have an older-than-the-hills PC, (I work on Mac G4s) I found the drivers folder but it doesn't have an etc folder and I don't have a hosts file anywhere (I searched) but I do have the toolbar installed.

Has anyone developed an online Google Toolbar, that would work like the Google dance tool?

A question along these lines, I have a system32 folder, and a drivers folder, but no etc folder. Where would I do this for my old version of windows?

If you've got Windows 95 or 98 you should be able to see the C:\Windows\hosts.sam file, which is a sample hosts file.

Just edit this and save it as C:\Windows\hosts without the extension.
