SEO Company Gets Me Banned by Google

I hope that someone can help me because I have been duped by a company called Traffic-Power.com They contacted me to sell their “SEO” service. Their references gave them good marks.

Having had an online insurance business for four years and being licensed in 34 states, I had gained decent positioning for several phrases on Google. Most of my business has come from Google for the last couple of years.

Traffic-Power.com had me load 100 pages onto my site to improve my positioning for 20 key phrases. They assured me that they abide by all search engine rules and that my positioning was guaranteed to be in the top 10. About 10 days ago, my site disappeared from Google. The only change recently had been those new pages. Upon researching the issue, I discovered that these pages went against the guidelines of most search engines. I immediately deleted all of the “illegal” pages.

I have emailed Google with apologies and my explanation, but I have received only a boiler plate answer. My livelihood depends upon being reindexed by Google.

Whom at Google can I contact and how in order to get reconsidered for indexing? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site

Sorry to hear about your news Google have been quite quick in helping TP customers and I've seen some of those banned in May already back in the Search Engine.

Read the thread shown in the link above, but it will take some reading! Get a good stiff drink get yourself comfy and read it all, it has some good advice about what to do, although it sounds like you've done most of it already.

Stick around too, hopefully you can learn to get back to the top of Google under your own steam and without the need to pay some SEO extortionate fees.

Good luck.
Jane

I am sorry if my recent plea for help caused you to shreek "OMG", but there are many of us who apparently do not have your great depth of knowledge and experience. I have never before participated in an online forum and do so at the suggestion of a friend.

It is a given that I was naive and was "taken" by Traffic-Power. I don't really need to read about how stupid I was. I am simply asking for a little help from the SEO community, that is, from those of you with ethics, to help me get listed again with Google.

Any recommendations would be forever appreciated.

Thumbs up Thanks to Jane

Thanks Jane...It is good to hear from someone with a little compassion.

Do you know anyone at Google to email? I have emailed the info@ address, but received a polite boiler plate reply that did not address my specific issue.

If you are interested, my url is http://www.benefithouse.com.

Best Regards,
Steve

Yep, you are banned It's not the end of the world although it feels like it right now.

Don't take the negative comments personally, you just happened to come along at a sensitive time on a sensitive subject. SEO Chat guys are very helpful.

Read the thread Sumone gave you, you will see on Page 4 Sumone tells people what to do as far as Google is concerned and you will be able to see other people in your position taking action.

Good luck.

Jane

Welcome to the forum averageguy. Don't worry to much about Fryman 8) You are solidly banned from Google. What on earth did you do that for. Your site is optimized with lots of backlinks, that P***es me off. What worries me is the amount of traffic these idiots from TP are getting.

traffic power

You should have done your research. Those guys are scum and use a bunch of bs tactics that are easily detected. Basically a bunch of generic doorway pages with repeated text... you can't tell me you dont expect not to get banned with all the crap they offer.

It's unfortunate Cyberwire, but that is exactly what many of the clients of TP expect (NOT to get banned). It's not because they are stupid, it's not because they are trying to dupe Search Engines. It's simply because they have no knowledge of SEO and have put their trust and money in what they thought was a reputable company to get them results.

I can't help feeling that if you choose to run a business you should make every effort to understand the threats to your business and take every reasonable effort to minimise them.

What is above me is that these people can sell SEO if they themselves arent ranking on Google. You had a better chance with the guy from www seobook com. At least he has PR and can show what he ranks for Or do a search on Google and do a search for this industry's measure of the best and check who ranks under the top20 on Google for the term SEO. That is where you will find someone like SEO guy now that makes sense doesn't it. Rather do your home work and steer clear from being exploited!

Jane unfortunately it is true what you are saying. It is for that reason that it is our duty to educate people as much as possible on the dangers on choosing a good SEO. I still can't understand why people who wants to rank high on Search engines can't use them as a measure of who is reputable!

I so agree with you Chatmaster, it is our duty.

It is a horrible situation all round in my opinion. Who's fault is it?

The clients?
Nope, uneducated in SEO, they trusted Traffic Power.

The staff?
Actually, that's debatable. How many of their staff were uneducated in good SEO when they started? Trained by TP they did their job, they produced results, they probably think they are the bees knees. How many of their staff were educated in SEO and knew they were getting away with producing good results using a Google loop hole? Probably less than we imagine but agreed yes, there must be some.

The company?
Yes, the fault must ultimately lie with the company. They are taking the fees and responsible for hiring the staff.

Who will get the blame?
Probably the staff, which is unfortunate. I hope those that work there and have been genuinely and innocently caught up in this crap find this site. No matter what they've done in the past, if they honestly believed they were doing the right thing because their employers had led them to believe that, we can help them

Jane

considering the fact that it is the entire purpose of their company, their livelihood, it's more likely to believe that the staff is aware of what they are doing and why it is wrong. they need a paycheck too, after all, but can't honestly plead ignorance in this case.

Cool

Please! No more 20 page threads about Traffic Power.

This person asked what can he do to fix the problem. Sorry, but it will be tought and take time.

First: clean your site: take all the things they added out and get the house clean before you invite Google to come by

Second: Email Google again, tell them you fell in TP's trap, and have cleaned up your site. I think the address for this is webmaster@google.com

Third: Although I understand your frustration, you need to be patient. No need to send Google a mail every 2 days. Send once, and wait. If they want, they will answer.

Forth: Wait... and hope that Google agrees to check your site and consider it for reinclusion.

No one here can really help you, since this is in Google's hands.
