Same site, different PR
Hi
I was offered to exchange links with a web site which has PR of 6 for domain: http://domain.com But has PR 4 for domain: http://WWW.domain.com He says that I'll be on both pages automatically, but requests people to link to http://WWW.domain.com. Should I exchange links with that site? And why is PR so different because of removal of www. Thanks |

It is often like that. That is the way it goes.

www.yourdomain.com and yourdomain.com are not the same sites though... they could have completely different IP addresses. The fact that both sites have mirrored content is another issue though... so if someone links to one, it does not give the PR credit to the other.
They should have one redirecting to the other, but that's their problem I guess... - Shawn
