PR2 but ranking High in competitive key word

This site: www.coral-calcium-advanced.com ranks No.5 for key phrase "coral calcium". It has very low key word density. It has PR2 (PR4 once this update is complete).

Can someone shed some light on why this site ranks higher than the PR5-6 sites below it?

PR does not rank the page.

There are many reasons why one page might rank higher than another. Two main reasons...

RELEVANCE: title tag, headers, bold text, anchor links, the text on the page, image file names, alt tags, etc.

IMPORTANCE: number of other pages linking along with their importance (PR)

Since these other pages have higher PR - you must be beating them on relevance. (some don't have very good onpage relevance seo in my opinion). You do what you want but if it were my page, I would be getting more links and working to improve relevance. I think that you have a lot of opportunities in BOTH of those areas.

EGol, the site under questions is the site I want to beat... I'm familiar with most of the seo techniques, so you know I apply those to my practice. Unfortunately my site and many other sites are beaten by this site, with pr4, no onpage optimization, no nothing. Just pounding my head here...

Okay... then maybe I looked at your page... and what I said still applies - I looked a couple pages below this site - ones that had higher PR..... and belive that they need better onpage seo.

If you have a higher PR and you can't beat a lower PR site then onpage seo or link text relevance are where you will likely find your answer.

You have four posts here so I have no idea what your SEO experience level is.... but I hope that you can find ways to kick it up a notch in both relevance and importance.

I don't pay attention to exactly who is above me or why... I try to build the most relevant pages that I possibly can and manage my PR the best that I possibly can. I am in competition with a standard rather than another site and in the long run that will get me higher in the SERPs.

Just to add, PR is just another small facture in what SE use to rank pages. There about a hundred factures in the algorythm.
