Page 2 - PR update??February 2008

Our site PR didn't move but the backlinks did update over the last 24 hours. The link: trick still shows the old result set so I am thinking our PR will update once that information gets to the datacenter.

Three other sites I monitor frequently changed today, 2 up, 1 down. As the day has gone on the one that went down has gone from 75% of dcs reporting the old PR to 50%. IE it's propogating out.

Our blog was a PR NA up until today. It's now showing as a 0 - as of this morning.

Can anyone confirm whether all DCs have completed the BL update? I hope BL update is not over as I had some quality fresh links which popped up only three days ago.

There seems some kind of a update going on....i see my blog's pr2 jump to pr 4 .YAY !!!

No PR changes yet for any of my blog and sites.

My website PR has changed home is same 5 PR but internal pages got 4 to 5 (seo page) and ranking is also improved with my targeted keywords. And my second corporate website got 2 to 3. And my client website got o to 2 PR.........

I was very dissapointed when the PR update was done a month ago, that i didnt get any PR. Was PR0.

I just logged into the forum and saw this thread and lo and behold, I am now PR4. I hadnt even noticed.

OK...OK....PR is not important but to me, it just gave me an "emotional" boost. Sorta like getting an award. Hurray.....

To my surprise the website which is 3 months old, the PR increased from 0 to 4 and the internal pages 3 to 0. I don't really understand these erratic changes but by using the PR calculation

PR = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + ... + PR(tn)/C(tn))
d - factor has an aprx. value of 0.85
PR - of the website linking to yours
C - outbound links of the website that link to yours)
t1 to tn - websites linking to yours

my PR is correct.

Can anyone please confirm whether this is correct way to calculate the PR?

Must be a genious getting that right!! I never bothered to calculate PR, just left it for Google to do itself, these PR formulas really look scary to me.

I confirm some change like some of the new site has got a good pr like pr 1,2 while most of the back link will be cut down in this update. i am sure since i have check few of my sites.

This the original theory formula published the first time Google patented the Page rank. But it has been around for 10 years, there might be changes in the original formula. And they are no recent publications of that. Do not confuse yourself, do not spend time building PR, spend time building quality traffic that brings revenue to your site.

For those of you that can see the PR change, do you see a backlink count that matches or is at least updated with link

Essentially in webmaster tools we all saw a jump, I'm wondering if those that already see the toolbar increase can also see the links through search. We can see them in the tools but the old link: is the same. Our site seems to have stayed right at 3.

We don't track PR really so I wouldn't be able to tell if it just reshuffled internally which it appears may have happened. Pretty interesting it came so quick this time.

I have noticed that the PageRank on one of my sites is missing on numerous pages today - including the home page. However if I use http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php it shows a PR4. Has anyone else had this happen today?

I have checked and notice a big change in back links of my trademart.in portal. isnt it a quick early update as the recent we have see was just a month back...and what about pr , there was no change at all ..

I noticed that http://www.msnbc.msn.com doesn't show any ToolBar PageRank either, but the prchecker.info site shows it as being a PR8 - so I guess it must be a widespread problem. Maybe a PR update?
