PR the same but rising

Now I had been building to one of my sites as usual. The PR is the same and I'm not doing any changes in the website. No text, title, adding more pages, nothing whatsoever.

But but but, the site is rising for the last one month for the keyword which I'm targetting. My site's rank was in seventies, then rose to forties and now today its 37.

I am beginning to believe that google is giving me credit for the links which I'm adding. And as we all know that PR has a low weightage these days. Moreover google is not dancing for a long time now maybe google will continue with the same with no dance. Maybe they have a new PR for every site but not showing on the toolbar.

Any similar experiences??

Gaurav.

so it does now actually seems that there is some "hidden pr" which we cannot see......coz one of my site with PR0 ranks no. 1 for a competitive keyword.

mystery mystery!

I've been saying this for weeks! Google IS "semi-dancing" every weekend, and PR is playing a ranking factor, as is anchortext. You just can't rely on the toolbar anymore.

I agree Holymoly! As do a lot of other experienced SEO's.

Still, It would be nice to see some more green on the toolbar when I view my site!

If I had to make an educated guess, I'd say they are going to discontinue the pagerank feature of the toolbar. If not discontinue, then just stop "future development" of it.

Of course I was wrong once before. Once
j/k

One of my new site has PR0 and 1 month old. It gets number 1 in most of our competitive search terms. Something that I have to investigate on...

I like the new way of explaining it. Every Saturday and Sunday, Google does a shuffle of the index. The person that called it a Google Shuffle gets my vote.
LOL

Freshie's up to about daily for the root of one of my domains. Would this appear to imply that my "hidden PR" is higher than the PR1 which shows on the toolbar, or is it just because I'm changing the page relatively frequently?

In the old days!

Before June1st, 2003, I would have been able to give you an answer and certainly the SEO whizzes here would have, but in lieu of recent developments I do not think anyone could do more than guess at the answer to your question. Most of us are hoping and waiting for a PR change but in the meantime, we are just watching the search results and hoping we don't lose positions and new pages are being picked up. Cross your fingers and hope like the rest of us.
