PR drop to 0

Has anyone had a domain that got penalised to a page rank 0 ? And how long before your site returned its original page rank , if at all ?

is your site doomed if this happens, are you better off starting again on a new domain ?

You should not have asked the question. That's what I do when I know the answer is going to be other than what I want.

If it was a penalization that made it a 0 it will never come back. Start over.

jman , you say my site is dead, but google is still spidering my site everyday, would that mean i still have a change to get back in the engine ?

i have looked at my site and changed things around to make it less spammy, i still dont know why it got hit with a penality (maybe content filter)

Hi notanotherseo,

My comments were made under the assumption that you were Dinged for spammy techniques. If that is the case then I have never seen anyone recover from that.

There are other reasons why your site may have a 0 if you were not dinged for spam. If you made changes to your page names and you timed it just right, it is possible that you were just a 0 because the new page did not have links pointing to it in Googles DB when the update was done. I have seen that happen as well.

Google still indexing your site is interesting. I have never had a personal site get PR0'd so I have never had a chance to see post PR0 logs to see if Google continued to visit the site. I would think that they would have no choice but to continue to visit the site if there are still links pointing to it. I would be curious as to how deep they were indexing you though if indeed you are a PR0 for spammy reasons.

Hmmm

notanotherseo...

what exactly is the history here?
you show no backlinks.
you are showing 1680 pages with your url in them.
but google will only list about 10 of them.
did you do some massive spamming attack of a ton of pages or what?
or perhaps whereever all those links where coming from is now a banned site.
what was your pagerank before it became zero?

zero pr is not a google ban or penalty.
gray bar is a ban.

you are not in the top 800 for your domain name keywords.

i have had a PR 5 for a year, was in the top 20 for most of my key terms, then last update i got snuffed.

someone suggest a content or dupilcate filter may have triggered my ban.

some of my pages look a bit doorway(ee) but i have cleaned most of that up.
