PR and keyword positioning
oK i been doing research on this subject for my site and am getting conflicted information. I have a online store and about a year ago I started doing reciprocoal links and linked up with a few blogs who all had about a page rank of 5-6 about a month or 2 later i noticed that i was appearing on the first or 2nd page of google in natural search results. About 2 months ago I lost about 3 of these sits and noticed a small drop in my positioning. People have told me reciprocal links are "bad" or are not calculated as a high boost in your rankings by google but I read how they are good. IS THAT TRUE? do they help?
Also I was told that just putting a link on your site pointing to a site with a page rank of like 8-9 that is relevant to your site also helps your search engine positioning. IS THAT TRUE? |

Hi Cove,
Q1: Yes they help. (They don't help as much as a "one-way link" from the same source would help, but they definitely do help). Q2: The general concensus is that links to on-topic "highly respected sites" can help... I don't think the PR is relevant.
