Pr 4

I have been working hard on backlinks over the past couple of week , getting some results but still only have a PR of 4

Any tips on improving this .....

Hello...

Attaining good backlinks and PR is something that takes abit of time and patience. I personally do not worry too much of the incoming PR of my backlinks, as its like an investment where over time, the Pr of the links going to your website will increase just like your links pointing to your partners will also increase in PR.

With recent updates to Google Algo, PR is still important but in a different way. They key to using Links to your advantage is in attaining quality, themed links, that are somewhat relative to your page/website theme!

i am seeing a pagerank of 3 currently.
just keep working on incoming urls with good keyword text.
i would put a few more keywords in your page title if i were you.

i am curious how you selected the name 'sand castles'.
metaphorically speaking...sand castles are very ephemeral structures.
they are washed away by the tide.
not something one would invest a future in.

Have you submitted your website to all of the available free internet directories?

They will contribute to your link popularity, your Google PageRank, and perhaps send you some good targeted visitor traffic.

Im seeing PR4, what keywords are you targetting? Unless it its moderately popular you wont really need much more PR, so long as you get your link texts and on page details are right. Though it cant hurt... Try searching for your keyword(s) + a term usually displayed on automated link exchanges, eg: sandcastles "add url" or sandcastles "add your site". Sometimes these sites wont pass PR but alot will and it takes away the hassle of dealing with other webmasters.

Also, what several webmasters have been doing successfully is to develop a useful and preferably unique tool that others will want to post on their website, or place on their website and include your link in this tool.
