Question PR 4 -> PR 5

Hi Guys,

I'm wondering how big is the gap between PR4 and PR5. I'm checking my google page rank at page-rank-check.org almost every month. To get PR4 was not really hard however in 2 years I was not able to get PR5. What is the gap between PR4 and PR5 ?

thank you

40,0000,000 fully authoritative/trust backlinks!

do that, and you'lll get a PR of 5....

course, why you'd bother is beyond me -- matters not a whit to your serps....

Well, doesn't PR mean... public relations?!

Seriously though, the standard Google hype about this is that PR is one of the 200+ variables in the relevancy algo, balh blah... You don't believe that? I mean, all other variables being equal, won't PR count for *something*? After all, it's based on backlinks, and those sometimes do help your SEPRs...

my site is about 1.5 years old and when i checked several months ago my pr was 4. now it is 5.

i really did not bother to exchangle links with anywhere except when someone offered me which totals up to may be 10. i have may be 20-30 more links compared to pr4 situation. i just left some good comments occasionally to relevant places where i included my website address. those total up to may be 30 comments in many months....

the only main difference is, i am now adding content almost every day, in comparison to adding content once a week. i have been doing this since about 3 months at least. i really can not think of anything else. i didnt even do an seo work yet ever. my website is not even optimized yet, and would drive an seo person crazy probably...also my website has more visitors now, may be 4 - 5 times more. but that is mostly due to forwarded domains to my site working much better.

bottom line:
1-write fresh content every day (or almost every day). and write it not for seo. write it for humans.
2- never bother with leaving excessive comments or exchanging excessive number of links or submitting articles to here and there (which i never ever did). these are cheap tricks which wont get you anywhere.

Is not that I'm missing PR5. I was just curious. The google PR is really unpredictable no matter what you think of it. There were a times where some pages on my website got PR6 with very little back-links or none at all.

On the other hand there are some pages on my site which has lots of good back links and links are being created everyday and it has PR3.

Despite of the fact that I'm on PR4 for years the traffic grew.

this improvement can be acheived with one 9 PR links, or thousand of low PR back links.
