Page rank question

The number of good quality backlinks to a site increases page rank. My question is,

"If you have many links from one site, is that better than having only one link from that same site? Or does google only recognize one link from each site?"

There is no definite answer to this, and don't believe anyone who tells you any different.

Thanks for your response. I only ask because my page rank jumped from one to four, all of a sudden this week! I'm thrilled, but it makes me wonder what I did right so I can keep doing it.

I have been doing some link building, but not a whole lot, maybe 20 or so links in the past couple of months. But in the past few weeks I have been posting to a forum that lists my link in my signature with every post I make, so I thought maybe this was what caused it.

If the links go to different pages they will bring benefit to each page that receives the link. If the links go to the same page the benefit will be similar to that of just recevieng a single link.

Hi ClickyB, I know that forum can't give you the page rank but it could be one of the best way to get traffic and also forum posting is necessary for branding purpose.

I have a site which does not have any back link but its page rank is 6. Can you believe that, I guess no, whatever the thing is that the page rank algorithm is still a very complex thing, so I just believe that if we make good valuable back links or resources and also if we get good traffic it is sure that google would not mind to give page rank.

However thanks..

No I cannot. Please offer some evidence for this. It is possible to get a site false PR ie redirecting. But unless you have just purchased the site (or are doing some other manipulative practice} I beleive what you are claiming is impossible.

Nearlly zero is not the same as none. Are you quoting google link command or GWMT link count. Google link command is uselss check the links in yahoo and see how many links you have.

Hi gazzahk, yahoo and bing is showing 107 and 34 inbound links, i have checked from seoquake and manually. Also the indexed pages are same for other engines. The domain age is around 9 years.

I don't have GWMT and Analytics...

So, please let me know have you been experienced anything like that? just PM me I will provide you the site url.

Thanks

I don't think so. If you really want to increase your page rank you need to make high pr quality backlinks AND if you want to increase traffic, write powerfull content and promote that.

Note :
traffic - real traffic that brings business for you NOT useless.
