noindex, follow & backlinks
if a page has the noindex, follow meta tag...
a) does a link from that page to my site count as a link b) will its PR be passed on c) will the keywords in the text link count thanks tim |

noindex indicates to Googlebot not to add to archive. If not in archive - nothing counts.
PageRank cannot the calculated on something not in archive. Links from pages are followed but as PageRank is not calculated nothing is transferred and backlink cannot be seen. As page is not indexed keyword (anchors) are irrelevant. |

Here's a harder question... one that I don't know the answer for, but would like to know....
What happens if someone else has linked to that page and it does exist in archive.... in that situation would PR be transferred? Traffic flows through, and the crawler can see the destination and recognizes it. |

Yes - PR is transferred according to PageRank even distribution rules. But as the receiving page is not in the archive the PR is lost.
A bit like having a winning lotto ticket "after it has expired"! ;) |
