My PR incresed overnight.

Hi guys,

I have a web site which was online for many years. It had almost 0 content or keyword or any kind of SEO. Recently i have discovered that my pr on that web site is 5, which left me wondering if this is a google api mistake. The site doesn't have any backlinks. Does anyone have an idea why this happened?

How old is your domain name? Maybe that has something to do with it? Perhaps the person who owned it before you did do backlinks?

I own that domain name for about 5 or 6 years and it had pr 0 when i first put it online. I also checked with all the tools i could find if i had any backlinks to this domain but all the tools found 0 backlinks i also checked in google webmaster tools if there was anyone linking to my site and still haven't found anything.

Maybe it could be just a temporary blip just like cgcsllc said. If it isn't that i really don't know what happened

Well, I guess that has certainly some relation to the age of your domain.

@recoder: Would you mind sharing your link, may be you are using some third party tool to check the PR, that can have an error. usually there is nothing like overnight increase in PR unless and util there is a bug.

Lucky indeed. A friend's website which was left for 2 years went up to PR 4 this year. I just checked it it was because of a glitch but, luckily, the PR is still there.

They're just trying to maintain it as of now just to be sure that it's still going to be on PR 4. And yes, maybe it's got something to do with the age of your domain, as well.
