links question
say I have text link from www.[site].com (PR9) to my site how is this any better than having a banner link from www.[site].com to my site?
and... if www.[site1].com links to www.[site2].com/page1.htm and www.[site2].com links to www.[site1].com/mypage.htm are these links considered reciprocal because they not actually pointing to and from the same page? thanks tim |

Unless you're trying to build a particular page, it's almost always best to link to your main page..
It also seems important not to vary how you're linking to that page... ie: Don't sometimes make it http://www.yoursite.com<br /> and ....com/index.html An article that may help you a little is: http://www.gnc-web-creations.com/secrets.htm

To answer your first question - in terms of page rank benefits alone, it shouldn't make any difference whether the link is a banner link or a text link.
Where the text link has an advantage, is that it can contain keywords and thereby giving you a boost when people search on that term. If you have a banner link pointing to you, try to get some keywords in the alt"" tag for that banner. |
