We had about 40 inbound links and a PR4. Now we have 19 inbound links and a PR5...
Does this mean that some of the site that were linking to us had poor PR, and now that theirs have gone, we've gone up?? |

Check the backlinks with Alltheweb to get a better picture of who's linking to you. It's theoretically possible that you lost some links but thre remaining ones increased their PR, meaning you went up as well. Or, you got some nice new spanking PR6 links
In any case, I don't think the Google backlink command has been working well for some months now (apart from the fact that the never showed links from or to pages of less than PR4) Gringo. |

hmmmm...
I've used marketleap link popularity tool, which more or less tallys with alltheweb, and also altavista and google when using the old link: tool. Alltheweb returns 333 results to my site but is that 333 inidividual sites, or does it inlclude multiple links on sites? I would guess I only had a fraction of that number of sites linking to me at the moment... also - why so many more on all the web than googleor even altavista? |
