LinkBlaster -Link exchange programs

I know we have seen many link exchange programs in the past, some good, some not so good.

I know that Tony frequents these parts, ( and I welcome comments ) but I am wondering as to whether anyone has anything to say about the LinkBlaster program. I know that it is new and still in Beta offering free signups, I just got signed up recently, but then had second thoughts and removed my stuff

After setting everything up, I began to think in terms of how I examine my competition and then took great notice at the large sign (graphic that advertises the LinkExchange Program) at the bottom of my pages telling everyone (including my competition) that I was engaged in this link exchange program.

Any thoughts?

generally most sites do not need to exchange a ton of links to get top rankings. I am not a huge fan of reciprocal linking programs.

Arelis will spider the web for link partners for $99

Link Mentor is only $67 and gives lots of link attributes like OptiLink does.

I would be inclined to buy Link Mentor (or at least using Prog & LinkTree - which are both free) before I bought or tried any other software

You see, That's where I'm not sure....

I understand that the opinion is that Link Exchanges may not be a good idea, however, whethere or not it actually is, or whether it works great - if you are in a competitive market where your competition constantly looks for ways to "bump you off", I'm not too keen on the idea of telling them what I'm doing. And if it works well, why advertise it to the world? That would be with the free advertisement at the bottom of the page letting the world know that you are involved in a link program.
