link:www vs link: www, incoming links not being listed

Checking my domain at google with

link:www.vialin.com, PR 4 links are coming up.

link: www.vialin.com, (with a space) more incoming links are listed.

I guest some of them with lowest PR, but only incoming links with the specific address http://www.vialin.com, listed in their pages.

When I do search with my site name "San Cristobal Antiques" still more links are listed, does it mean that I'm not being ranked by these incoming links, that are not being referenced by my domain.

I’m working on link exchange campaign, but I do not know if I’m doing right.

Thanks

While link:www.domain.com shows backlinks
with PR>4 (sometimes even PR3),
link: www.domain.com shows pages with the word link: and www.domain.com in the content.

That doesn't seem quite right to me...

I think it is just the word "link" plus the URL any where on the page, but also in the URL of the page it's found on (and maybe in the head tags?):

Look at the bolding here in these selected examples for "link: www.psychlinks.ca":
Quote:
AOL Canada Search: Search Results ... It has a consumer-orientated version - and a professional version. This link leads to the consumer version. ... URL.psychlinks.ca/psychlinks.htm. ...

Thumbs down

Could you please stop spamming the board and stuffing it with so many links???

If you have a question, ask, but don't copy-paste all that stuff and drop it here.

Excuse me?

I'm not "spamming the board" - I was responding to the thread. If you bothered to read my post at all, the point was to show highlighted portions of a Google search using "link: url".

I don't see a problem with the links. sv800 you might be apt to read the quidelines of the forum before posting, so that you are fully aware of what is going on. Fortunately most members will let you know before hand.

In any case, why do you try the link: search at Prog -

http://www.webmasterbrain.com/prog/

It will give you a list of all the PR for each url, and also show you the differences for the various operators you are using.

The correct way to do the link is: link:www.domain.com

There needs to be no link: www space to get the backlinks correctly. You can also check in the G toolbar to make sure.

:-)
