Legit or Looking for trouble...?

---The Google Guidelines:
However, certain actions such as cloaking, writing text that can be seen by search engines but not by users, or setting up pages/links with the sole purpose of fooling search engines may result in permanent removal from our index. ----

The topic of this post is:
Am I asking for trouble?

I saw a few programs out there selling high PR links for cash. Although I'd love to participate - I just don't feel that it's money well spent. Not only does it violate google terms but it's god damb expensive... :-o

So I created a place to get people linking. While creating the forum I wondered how I could create such a place that didn't violate Google terms. We all know that reciprical linking is not much of a value to Google. The non reciprical links are best.
Now what if there was a place that you can get non reciprical links by mearly telling people about your website and hoping that they link to you?

Well I said to myself - what a great idea. The option for a webmaster is totally up to them whether they want to link to a site or not. They just view other members sites and pick which ones they like and link to them. I tell all members to "only link to websites that are a value to your sites visitors".

Now would you consider that a natural link?

I feel prettty sure that this way of building theme related links should be ok by Google terms, but I can't say that I'm not a bit worried. I'd like for you guys to give an opinion on this. The community is growing fast and things are looking great. I have never built links so easily... But I keep thinking this is too good to be true....

The forum is a page off of a website called ipagerank.com - the forums are located here: http://clasione.proboards3.com/

IF we were violating Google terms, what the heck do I do? I'm really hoping that it's looked at as a natural link building program, but if it's viewed as a problem.... I just don't know.... Take a look and give me some of your ideas, because, the last thing I want to happen is to create a community of Google Banned members.

My intensions with this site are good....

Smile Hmm don't know about the google guidelines

but what a neat idea. My question is how do you know you won't be wasting your time adding and not getting anything in return? Maybe you could set it up some way I don't know how but where you get related links based on how many links you add. I don't know I guess that kind of ruins the idea. But I think its a nice concept because I may want to link to a site that may not be interested in me and vice versa. I would love to hear what others think.

Automated Backlink Solution

You might try out a new site that I just setup and am Beta testing. (Free for beta people).

It has you install a page and a banner into your system and in turn you show up on the whole networks resources page as a backlink.

Hi Clasione, great idea. I am sure you will get some backing from this forum. I cannot see that Google can have a problem with that!

BTW Have you thought of "tri-linking". My site links to yours - yours link to jon doe and jon doe links to me. Perhaps that will work?

Keep in mind the Millions of sites that google indexes. Honestly the do not have they ability to check every single one. This is why we still see sites using spam techniques to get ranked.

There has to be some sort of trigger to alert them. Such as abnormal PR boosts, Or Sudden skyrocketing in ranking. Plus submitting multiple sites to google for indexing within a short period of time.

I have a competitor who has 3 websites all 3 have same IP same DNS and same NSlookup info. Yet 1 of the 3 are always in the top ten and more often 2 are in the top ten. He has been there for 6 months.

I honestly have been thinking of doing the same to see what the result are. But I will not point any of those to my current site.
