Smile Is It PR Lickage?
My site http://a-itindia.com/ is linked with 6 PR websites but still having a merely 4 or 3 PR. It has outgoing links also and it has back links from lower PR sites too. What can be the reason of a low PR value? Any idea! Thanks for your time

pagerank is a measure of inward link popularity into a specific page. if your site links out to known penalized spam then your pagerank can get dinged, but with most sites pagerank is mearly a reflection of their inbound link popularity.

Yes, I think, backlinks from low PR sites can be problem & also penalised spam links can be preventing ur PR from rising though having links from PR6 pages...try getting more quality theme links

backlinks from low pagerank sites will not hurt you

People think that a PR6 link will do wonders and boos their rankings the next day.

You need to check several things about a backlink:
Is the PR6 strong? It could be a weak PR6, almost a 5, and thay won't help as much as a strong one.
How many other links are there on the page? If you have a backlink from a PR6 page that has another 50 links, you won't get much from it.

And I agree with everyone, get more backlinks ,it doesn't matter if they have PR1, every backlink helps.

Good point Fryman - also are the links hidden - inside frames or behind code.

Good quality links no matter PR are the priority though. Links that are appropriate and with good anchor text will do more than a poor PR6 link.
