Is it possible to increase sites PR by adding a lot of internal pages ?
Is it possible to produce PR from internal content pages ?

A page is supposed to start with a .15 PR... on paper...
Adding many pages at once will drain some PR from the other pages toward the new ones. Adding lots of pages will decrease the actual PR of the pages. If you had 10 links on home and add 10 more... the older 10 pages will lose 50% of the PR they were getting before. So you can make your pages PR go down if you do not do it properly. |

Assuming your site has a link back to the homepage and very few links out even on deep content pages, then you might be able to better channel your PR with internal links, but you aren't going to be able to create additional PR this way.
But - the big exception would be if you have some type of directory site where your primary content consists of links to other domains. In this case, adding more internal links (like maybe a footer of 20 internal links) is going to preserve more PR for your site and send less PR out to the other sites. 99% chance that Jocelyn's answer is correct for you. But, just in case you fall into the other 1% - there is something to think about. Last edited by nmalhot : June 7th, 2004 at 08:01 PM. Reason: typo |

you can increase some pages' pr by add many internal pages, but these pages should be content page, otherwise they may not be able to add value to your site

nmalhot is right on the 1% thing... if it's your case do what he suggested.

On paper it may work... but on a web site... Add a page of theoritical PR.15. The page only have one link and it's to home. So (.15 * .85)/1=.1275 PR points transfered to home. It's from an internal link that, is supposed, to be of less value. The problem is also that you have to link to this page. So you take PR from other pages to send to this page with that link, so it's found. Give it a try... add 10 pages to see. You have to link them somewhere... it's a fun game. One backlink from a site might help much more... |

Adding a lot of new pages to your site will increase the PR of the existing pages only if they were very low PR to begin with.
Once you get up to PR6 or so adding new pages and linking to them generously can decrease the PR of your existing pages. Why, the high PR from your site will flow into the new pages, lifting their PR and lowering the PR level of the original pages.

the short answer: it won't have any immediate impact.
the long answer: add good pages. add them often. the more good pages you have, the more people will link to you, and the higher your PR will be.

no, the only tool out there is the google toolbar. the only other accurate tools out there just spit out what the toolbar says.
how long would it take? well, that completely depends on how much money you have to spend |

Are you sure you are a newbie? I see your site is made for participating on a SEO content (mongeur de cigogne) and you have already a PR6. So, to answer your question you need to post your URL on forums a few hundreds times to go from PR6 to PR8 |
