some as little as 20, others could be 500+ links going out.
Its a very competitive market (life insurance and financial products). Still think PR6 and top of the pile within a hugely competitive area? Also, what about the other site elements (headers, textual body, meta tags etc - are they just as importabt as incoming links?) Thanks, Gary.

Code:
<SCRIPT Language="JavaScript">
document.write('<a href="http://www.site.com">Link Text Here</a>');
</SCRIPT>
Regarding the above code, I have used the following variation for a links page and another page I wasn't finished with so Google wouldn't see an incomplete page and index the links page to plug PR holes: <script> document.write('<a hr'+'ef="li'+'nks.html"><b>Links</b></a>'); </script><br> It was suggested that the less it looked like a link, the better. Any feedback?

Kirby,
That would be a fail safe, might be considered an advanced methos for the future - once bots can understand simple javascript

Yeah, it always puzzled me why they dont understand javascript links. It is rather upsetting. Some fun things can be done with javascript links, and the bots should be able to interpret them. But until then it will be all about the <a href>'s

Well, I once stood there with a similar problem. Why not let the *.js file be dynamic instead of the actual page? There is no rule that you can only server-script html pages. That basically means, you start off with an empty js-file and use your favorite web scripting language to SQL your links out of the CMS and print them js-wise as Darrin explained it. Oh, yeah. You also need to map .js to your scripting interpreter, of course, or alternatively linking to a <script language=JavaScript type=text/javascript src=myScript.php></script> should work fine as well. |
