Just out of curiosty, was wondering how many people here have sites with PR 7+ ???

Probably somewhere around a dozen or two I would guess...most sites tend to end up in the 6 range, but if you rent links or have a great idea or a few powerful links you can go to 7. Some people here have PR8 sites and it is easy for them to make their other sites a PR7.

PR measures page, not site unless you refers PR of homepage as PR of a site. There're about 50,000 - 100,000 pages have PR7.

Hi Guys & Gals,

Just for the record, I am fully aware what Page rank is & does, how it's poposed to be calculated, etc. I am really only interested in seeing how many members here have achieved that threashold. I would've thought that there would have been more than a dozen with how active the forums are here (was registered under a different handle for a while).

I also mean PR 7 + on the home page. Generally not many people will have a home page below the value for pages in sub-directories... unless there's a specific reason why people are linking to a specific page and/or a webmaster is forcing that.

I really think it is hard to get a really high PR without just buying links. I mean type the big SEO phrases (seo, search engine optimization, internet marketing, etc) into google and look at the back links of the top 10s. Actually tooling around on other people's sites, I'm impressed Nintendo has so many links from internal pages...

FYI FWIW: My Home Page has been "stuck" at PR7 for quite a while. I guess that's good (hasn't gone down), but boy would I love to see that toolbar graphic slider move over one to the right! ;-)

Having said that, I allready spend WAY too much time futzing with this as a hobby, so I don't have desire to pursue link exchange, buying links, etc.

Its Jarrod over at textlinkbrokers. Good to see you on the boards. PR7's are still pretty tough to obtain without buying links so many people dont have them. I have a few dozen personal sites with 7's but even with buying links it took a few months to get them to move up.

Or just get lucky, and get some nice PR 7 and 8 links from dmoz and the google directory...
(and lots of other PR 4-6 links of course.... ;) )

Why bother to buy / trade in order to get a higher PR if you success well. I'm more than happy with my current PR6 (since I don't buy or trade links), but I must admit I'd love to see a PR7 thingie on my sites. For me it's more a question of fun than for real need...
