How long till google assigns a PR??

I have a site that I launched about 2 months ago. It currently has a PR0, and I have (3) PR7, (1)PR6 and (2) PR5 backlinks...

I rank in the top 5 for my keywords, usually #1&2 or #2 & 3, but am #8 for the main target keyword I am shooting for.

My question is fellas, how long will it take untill google assigns my site a PR???

1. Google has probably already INTERNALLY assigned you a pr.
2. You'll probably see the green on the toolbar in the next pr/backlinks update, whenever that turns out to be.
3. You are ranking really well, so don't worry about the pr.

With that being said, since I do rank pretty good, ( but not good enough for my main keyword ) it seems that my competition that has a higher PR, ranks higher than me. With everything that I have done to optimize my site, getting a higher PR seems to be one area that I would like to see if it makes a differece in my ranks.

I did pick up some really good pointers in the other threads, and was wondering just how long it would take for me to see a PR based on my backlinks that I am getting. Any clues?

Also, in line with trying to know what my PR is, I need to know when I can stop getting PR7 or PR8 backlinks to help my PR. ( since I don't know what it is anyways )

When...depends on when google decides to do another pr update - could be in the next 5 minutes, could be whenever.... But you'll likely see green at that time.

Obtaining backlinks is a never-ending process if you want to maintain your position. After all, your competitors will want to beat you all the time. So never "stop" getting backlinks unless you want to get beaten.

LOL. yes, that is a real pic of me (with a shades filter on top of it). pic was taken about 6-9 months ago or so i think. (i'm too old to remember that far back).

I think it's started. My PR has disappeared. Normally it will disappear then return and fluctuate between the old and new for a couple of days. Here's hoping for a 6

I hope it's soon. This would be my 2nd PR/BL update. I want to see the
product of my efforts and the change i've implemented in my website. Get
me motivated to keep on working on it and improving it.

Keep working and forget the greenbar... when you wait for it, it does not change.
You forget about it for a while and pop surprise... more fun.

Right now, the only thing that I have noticed is that my other site (PR#4) has achieved #1 & #2 ranking, pushing down the site that I'm trying hard to build the PR for.I just installed the google bar, and checked out the green bar....so far, zero..

The search results seem to be updating all the time now. Waiting for the PR and backlink updates also.
