How to gain PR????
As per I know PR can be increase by have quality of back links which is possible by submitting a site to as many directories as possible which allows only inbound link for the site. There is no requirement of link exchange in case of dir.
Link excahnge with high PR site also helps to gai PR.
Now my question is whether there is any other means by which the PR can be increased.
Thanks in advance....

PR only depends on links. Get as many links as possible, that's the only way for it. Nothing else.

Been at it for 6 weeks. Help!
Thanks for the list.. I have basically done all of that for the last 6 weeks. Google is coming to my sites (I have 3) and the pages are indexed in Google. I even get an organic link or two from Google (about 2 a day).
However, I still have PR 0 for all three sites. What am I missing?
Is it simply a quality of the link issues?

Just patience
First - it takes a while for Google to "capture" all the links and then Google only updates it's "visible PR" on a periodic basis (approximately every 3 months); so you won't see any green until the next update.
It does seem like they might be in the middle of one at the moment... just have to wait & see

Thanks... That's helpful to know. I thought it was much more frequent than quarterly.

As long your website are ranking high and getting traffic, why bother about PR ????
If at all you need to increase PR of your website, then try to get as many quality links having high PR. Just remember one thing, quality is important than quantity.
best of luck

How do you find quality websites (links) to link to that are relevant to your site? Is it simply searching a keyword thats similar to what you are targeting and link trading from that point?
Its been quite some time since I was involved with SEO and just getting back into it.

I have no idea. Sorry.
This whole thing is confusing me. When I go to Google Webmaster Tools, I see a bunch of sites linking to me. I'm sure many of these are PR 0 and 1, but that should at least get me a 1, right? Yet, I'm still sitting at 0.
I get organic traffic from Google a few times a day, so I know I'm in there.
I'll just keep waiting....

hits
link backs
selecting the right keywords
having those keywords in text on the site
choosing keywords with low competition but high searches
Directory listings
searching your competition

Apart from the 2nd of these, none of them have direct input into your PR.

Well you're wrong I'm afraid.
This thread isn't about SERPS rankings, it's about Google Page Rank and the only thing that increases Google page rank is incoming links.

ok, you're right.
Content - That will bring in more one-way links.
But still can't figure out the Hits part of it. I remember once a pseudo SEO advised me that PR depends on the number of visitors
Only thing for PR is links, links and more links
