Relative content to your keywords will in turn give you more hitsOriginally Posted by pro_seo
Are u trying to say that content and visitors and hits are important for getting just PR ?
if links backs are the ONLY factor then how in the world can a site with 3 link backs from places with no relation to their site and just random unknown forums, have the same page rank as yahoo?
EVERYTHING COUNTS
Customers pay me via a very large company to help them with this, you may think you all know everything but I am sorry I disagee, I do not know everything, but I know results, I get them.

Please share with me your views on how content and visitors help increase PRI want to know it, seriously
btw, can u give me the URL of the site you're referring to?
ok so lets say you have a site about bottles. You set your keywords all to jessica simpson related items, content all bottles, and get tons of hits.Originally Posted by pro_seo
Well #1 you are not going to have visitors for that long because they came to your site looking for jessic simpson and found bottles, #2 they are going to slowly vote against your page(if they know how to do it or you for that matter) #3 repeat hits will not be encouraged
#4 People are not going to link to your site if its not valid if they are in the bottleing field
#5 hits matter, they just do!
#6 links back are important the number one factor, but they must be relevant to your content to have greater weight!
If you are a bottling company and you post 5000 link in different jessica simpsons forums then google will eventually pick on that and give you a lower ranking.
ALSO they check your content and keywords, if your keywords have absoutely NOTHING to do with you content it will affect your ranking in google.
If you link on any site do not have relevancy then anyone clicking them on myspace or a directory or dmos or base will not visit again. Lower visits.
AND I KNOW FOR A FACT that links placed on irrelevant sites not relating to your content have little or no weight.
Also google is changing how they rank sites as we speak.
So example time ebaumsworld.com has no ranking with 791,000 links backs and a MONTHLY search volume of 148,362 unique hits... I wonder why...
want to take a guess?
#1 no keywords
#2 little or no content that is alike or relative
#3 also content is all over the board nothing to narrow down
also to the person who posted this, try listing in Open Directory Project
Make a few listings
Make your key phrases visible in title and text and match your sites keywords
on a side note, I am not posting my personal site.
NOTE: Length of time google effects it as well, if a site had the exact same keywords and link backs etc etc and on had been there for 5 years and one for 5 months, 5 years would have the higher ranking

Which has nothing to do with PR (the thread subject).Originally Posted by amandainnswoo

amandainnswoo I think you're missing the point here - this thread is not about serps rankings, it's about Google PR.
BTW... when you say "You set your keywords all to jessica simpson related items" are you talking about the meta keyword tag?

I also believe that google catagorizes your site ie law food technology and provides the ranking based on that catagory too

You have me somewhat baffled...
I can see the PR of each site is as you say but those backlinks figures don't coincide with any I can get...
They look more like the number of search results given by Google for each of those sites!
Can you tell me where you get them from?
there are 1000's of sites that will give you those ratings
some are correct, some are not, any search engine will tell you what site has your link on it, by typing in blahblhahblahb.com or yahoo.com or google.com, all links on any site, count, even if its the same site 300 times.
However I did not come here to debate my knowledge, I came here to help. I do not know all but I have studied this for about 3 years now with google. So debate me all you want. I know some aspects of search engines that many would not.
